The Ramayana

byDr. Rao GS

The Illustrated Epic Activity Book | Part - 2

An illustrated, activity-based retelling of the Ramayana for children aged 7–12, covering all five kandas with literacy, maths, and craft exercises.

Overview

Part Two of Dr. Rao GS's Ramayana Activity Book Series guides children aged 7 to 12 through the complete arc of the epic — Bala Kanda through Yuddha Kanda — in a format built for active engagement. The text does not ask children to sit still and absorb; it asks them to participate.

Activities woven through the narrative develop literacy, mathematical thinking, and artistic skills alongside the story itself. Children encounter new vocabulary with meanings, practise Likhita Japa, work through advanced exercises, and find space for drawing and poetry. Alongside the narrative and activities, the book includes Rama and Hanuman mantras and shlokas, the Hanuman Chalisa, and the names of Hanuman — giving families and religious classes material to draw on beyond the story chapters.

Designed for use at home, in school, or in religious education settings, the book treats the Ramayana not as a text to be memorised but as a living story children can think, draw, write, and pray their way through.
